Feel Good 1: Focus on Your Passion

November 5, 2014

I read the most amazing book the yesterday.  It told me to take an hour out of my day, everyday, to focus or build on my passion.  This amazing book is putting me back on track to achieve my goal and I'm going to try my best to stay on it.  Everybody should incorporate this into their lives to keep their passion burning and their dream into reality.  Google incorporates this practice, their employees are allowed one hour of creative free time to work on their own project.  Even if your current project or goal doesn't work out, at least you'll learn something from it and you can grow from your mistake and move onto something new.  Progress and growth are the key, whether it be personal, emotional, career, educational, or inspirational; do something, it'll help you be happy and give you purpose.  If you are not growing, you need to put yourself in a position where you can start growing again.

Once you realize what your passion is, drive for it.  Your passion is your goal in life for the time being and you need to work hard until that fire burns out.  Don't worry if your passion fades, most do.  When it does adjust.  Take some time to discover the world or yourself and find a new passion.  Your new passion will be your new goal in life and it will be your new purpose.  Remember your passion is your mission.  It is your goal and your purpose in life.  Everybody's purpose is different and some might have more than others.  When the fire is burning, let it burn uncontrollably and fuel your passion.  Tackle it like a double cheeseburger combo from In n Out after a 3 day music festival.

Try not to get distracted.  Don't watch TV or dabble in addicting.  These things will prolong you from achieving your goal.  Remember that you're on a mission and that your time is valuable.  Every second counts.  Make the most of it because life is too short

TAKE OR LEAVE YOUR COAT!

TAKE OR LEAVE YOUR COAT!
(Sao Paulo, Winter, 2013)

When nine people died due to the unusual low temperatures in Sao Paulo last week, this group of friends decided they could do something.

They’ve created the wall of coats (but you can also find pants and blankets there) in the middle of the street.

Anybody can hang a coat on the wall and anybody can grab one. There are no rules.

The project is a success, and many people (mostly homeless people) are a little warmer today.

The goal is to keep the wall full of coats for the whole winter. But they are thinking ahead, and by October, when it’s Children’s Day in Brazil, the idea is to turn the wall of coats into a wall of toys.

When The Power Of Love Overcomes The Love Of Power...

October 29, 2013

A young African American woman steps in to protect a nazi.June 22, 1996. A dozen members of a self-anointed and unwelcome KKK group came to Ann Arbor to hold a thumb-in-your-eye rally at City Hall. A protest group, the National Women's Rights Organizations Coalition (NWROC) formed to oppose them. After the rage had been mounting for awhile, this simpleminded redneck wandered up, wearing a Confederate-flag T-shirt. The crowd tore off after him, he fell, and the mob pounced. Keshia Thomas, horrified, threw herself over him to stave off the angry blows. Moments earlier, Thomas, 18, had been in the NWROC group, shouting at the KKK. It was a heroic and passionate moment in a crazy afternoon, well captured in these photographs.

1. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short not to enjoy it.
4. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and family will.
5. Don’t buy stuff you don’t need.
6. You don’t have to win every argument. Stay true to yourself.
7. Cry with someone. It’s more healing than crying alone.
8. It’s OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for things that matter.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won’t screw up the present.
12. It’s OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn’t be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye… But don’t worry; God never blinks.
16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
17. Get rid of anything that isn’t useful. Clutter weighs you down in many ways.
18. Whatever doesn’t kill you really does make you stronger.
19. It’s never too late to be happy. But it’s all up to you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don’t take no for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don’t save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
22. Overprepare, then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now. Don’t wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important sex organ is the brain.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words, ‘In five years, will this matter?’
27. Always choose Life.
28. Forgive but don’t forget.
29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
30. Time heals almost everything. Give Time time.
31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
33. Believe in miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn’t do.
35. Don’t audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
36. Growing old beats the alternative — dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood.
38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d
grab ours back.

42. The best is yet to come…
43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
44. Yield.
45. Life isn’t tied with a bow, but it’s still a gift.
